Hokies Thank the World
The Hokies Thank the World event was a community-wide effort to thank the world by forming a message of thanks on the Drillfield. The Saturday, November 17, event attracted thousands to spell out a message of thanks to the world for the global outpouring of support for the Virginia Tech community following the events of April 16.
The event, coordinated by Peter Sforza of Virginia Tech's Geography Department in the College of Natural Resources, was captured via ground, aerial, and satellite imagery. Images from the event were aired in Lane Stadium during the Virginia Tech-Miami football game.
