In memoriam: Robert Stieber, a junior majoring in mining engineering in the College of Engineering
BLACKSBURG, Va., October 7, 2009 -- Robert Stieber of Harrisonburg, Va., a junior majoring in mining engineering in the College of Engineering has died. He was 22 years old.
Stieber was a member of the student team from the College of Engineering that recently won first place at the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME) / National Stone, Sand, and Gravel Association (NSSGA) Student Design Competition.
A wake service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home, 3173 Spotswood Trail, Harrisonburg, Va., (540) 434-1359.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Harrisonburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Still Meadows, 11992 Hollar School Road, Linville, Va., 22834.
