Pamplin College professor receives lifetime achievement award

BLACKSBURG, Va., September 29, 2009 -- Michael Badawy, professor of management at Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business, received the International Association for Management of Technology's 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award is the associations highest honor, granted to individuals for their valuable and sustained contributions in support of education, research, and academic service in the field of management of technology. The association was established in 1987 as a non-profit society dedicated to advancing the state of the art in technology management research and education.
Badawy, the first recipient of the award, was recognized for his internationally acclaimed work, pioneering leadership, distinguished research, dedicated service, and institutional building in advancing the technology management discipline.
Badawy, whose research interests cover many aspects of the interdisciplinary field of technology and innovation management, teaches at Virginia Techs Northern Virginia Graduate Center, National Capital Region. He is the founding editor-in-chief of the Journal of Engineering and Technology Management. He received his doctorate with honors from New York Universitys Stern Graduate School of Business.
