Cooking up support for University Libraries: Ann Hertzler (right), retired professor of human nutrition, foods and exercise in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, has initiated a $100,000 endowed fund that will establish and support the "Ann Hertzler Children's Cookbooks and Nutrition Literature Archive" at Newman Library. This is the first cookbook and nutrition literature collection devoted to children. In 1999, Hertzler also helped to establish the "Peacock-Harper Culinary History Collection." Both collections are being housed in Newman Library, with a significant number housed in the Special Collection's Rare Book Room. Seen here with Hertzler are (from left to right) Eileen Hitchingham; dean of University Libraries; Gail McMillan, director of digital libraries, and Fred Woodbury, friend and financial advisor to Hertzler.
