Candlelight vigil: The Virginia Tech and Blacksburg communities attended a candlelight vigil to show solidarity for Northern Illinois University on Monday evening.
The vigil was sponsored by the student group Hokies United. The group also sponsored Red and Black Day on Monday and placed a red and black Hokie Stone near the Blacksburg campus memorial dedicated to April 16. Hokies United members will be giving the red and black Hokie Stone to the Northern Illinois community.
Hokies United is a student-driven volunteer effort organized to respond to local, national, and international tragedies that may impact our students and community.
