Employee assistance available for returning military service members

Eligible men and women returning from active military deployment, and their family members, are encouraged to take advantage of the free services offered by the state's Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
To be eligible, you must be covered by Virginia Tech's medical insurance. These services are available to all covered employees, not just military servicemen and women.
Up to four sessions are available at no charge for such services as mental health, alcohol or drug abuse assessment, child or elder care, grief counseling, and legal or financial services. EAP counselors are available to assist employees with problems related to the following:
- Alcohol
- Drugs
- Family
- Health
- Legal
- Financial
- Housing
- Mental health
- Child care
- Elder care
- Grief
- Spousal, child, or parent abuse
- Workplace
- Career planning
- Retirement
