From: Street Address Project Team
Virginia Tech is now utilizing numbered street addresses for Blacksburg campus buildings. Employees need to change their office address. This change can occur over the summer, but should be completed before the annual update of the university directory, which is usually in late July or early August.
There are two ways to change an individual’s office address:
Employees should check with their department before making an individual change.
The Virginia Tech style guide and campus maps are updated and templates maintained by University Relations for printed items such as envelopes, stationery, and business cards reflect the new address standard. One can continue to use current printed items until depleted.
A sample of the new address format is provided below:
Department Name (MCxxxx)
Building Name, RM or STE XXX, Virginia Tech
XXX Street Name
Blacksburg, VA 24061
The Procurement Department has worked with Virginia Tech’s major suppliers to make sure that the addition of street address will not create delivery issues. However, if you should incur any delivery issues that could be the result of the addition of the street address, please contact the HokieMart helpline at 540-231-2020 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: If you do not have a 24061 ZIP code and Virginia Tech mail code, your address is not be affected by this change.
During the summer, Virginia Tech Facilities Services will install a street address section to existing building signs.
