Policies to change regarding expenditures, management of federal grants, contracts
Virginia Tech's Task Force on Federal Contract Compliance has been meeting regularly since March to review expenditures and management of federal grants and contracts in an effort to address concerns which were raised as a result of audits conducted at Yale, Duke, and other universities. Three information sessions were held in July to provide all research administrators and their fiscal managers the opportunity to understand the problem, ask questions, and offer feedback.
The committee will conduct four sessions to inform administrators, fiscal managers, and faculty of the proposed changes in policies and practices, and how they will be implemented to assure compliance with federal agency expectations. Two of the sessions are directed primarily to department heads and business managers, and two sessions are for faculty members. However, please feel free to attend any of the four sessions as the same material will be presented at all sessions. There will be additional time for Q and A's at the presentations tailored for department heads and fiscal managers.
Sessions for Department Heads and fiscal managers will be Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in 310 ICTAS, and Friday, Dec. 11, 10 a.m. until noon at the Inn at Virginia Tech, Latham A.
Faculty member sessions will be Friday, Nov. 20, 9 to 10 a.m., in 129 McBryde, and Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in Fralin Auditorium.
If you are interested in attending one of the sessions listed above please go to the following website and register for the session you will be attending: https://survey.vt.edu/survey/entry.jsp?id=1255638909155 Adobe Connect will be available for all sessions and you will be able to register for Adobe Connect through the survey link.
