Faculty Development Institute fall 2009 short courses

SUBJECT: FDI Fall Short Courses - 2009
Registration is currently open for the Faculty Development Institute Summer 2009 Short Courses. The scheduled courses start Monday, August 31st and continue through Thursday, December 17th. Over 220 short courses will be offered in several topics. A large number of courses will focus on the migration from Blackboard to the Scholar Course Management System. Other topics include Designing Online Training Modules, an Introduction to Ensemble CMS (Virginia Tech's new Content Management System), Understanding the World of Sponsored Programs, an introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics, Using Concept Mapping Software to Teach Complex Concepts, and much more. Although the presentations are designed for instructional and research faculty, all short courses are free and open to Faculty, Staff and Graduate Students. Seating is limited per short course. Most short courses feature hands-on activities.
