Campus Notice
Updated Aug. 19: Parking structure construction to affect on-campus, commuter, graduate parking
From: Transportation and Campus Services
Virginia Tech's first parking structure will be breaking ground soon in the Perry Street/Prices Fork parking lot. Fencing blocking off the construction area have been set up in the lots.
The construction work for the 1200 space parking deck will result in the loss of several hundred parking spaces in this region. Additional commuter/graduate parking is now available in the Upper and Lower Smithfield lots. In addition, the lower section of the Duck Pond Rd. Lot (The Cage - section closest to the Duck Pond) has been converted from Residential parking to C/G parking.
Lower Chicken Hill parking lot on Southgate Drive is now available resident student parking.
Upon completion of the parking deck, in 14-16 months, faculty, staff, students, and visitors will have the opportunity to park in the facility with a valid Virginia Tech parking permit.
Resident student parking is not currently planned to be authorized in the parking deck.
Please see the map to view the changes to the commuter/graduate and resident student parking spaces.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Parking Services at parking@vt.edu or call 231-3200.
