English Language Institute offers After-School Language Program for school-age children
The English Language Institute of Virginia Tech is pleased to announce, for the benefit of faculty and staff with school-age children, the beginning of its fall After School Language Program. Courses in Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, Arabic, Mandarin and English as a Second Language will be offered. Classes meet once per week over a 14-week period beginning September 8, 2008.
Beginners and Continuing, Grades K-12: The Beginners Course introduces vocabulary and essential dialogue through the use of role plays, song, games, body gestures and stories. Learning is easy and fun, and small classes are conducive to individualized attention.
Continuing course, for more experienced learners, expands knowledge and use of the target language, increasing comfort with the language and functional proficiency.
Bonus Immersion, Middle Schoolers Lively engagement in dynamic skits, role plays games and other activities, both explained and conducted entirely in the target language, brings another country into the classroom. Concurrent enrollment in either a Beginners or Continuing course is required.
Help your child language competence at an early age be more successful in their language classes at school, to communicate with foreign friends and family, or to prepare for a trip to another country.
