Construction on Stanger and Perry Streets to begin Aug. 18

Virginia Tech and the Town of Blacksburg will begin an intersection improvement project beginning Aug. 18. The on-campus improvements will take place on West Campus Drive, Prices Fork Road, Perry Street and Stanger Street. The improvements, once completed, will decrease delays and congestion, and increase pedestrian safety.

Phase one of the project, which is scheduled to begin Aug. 18 and run until the end of October, will take place at the intersection of Stanger and Perry Streets. This work will cause minimal vehicle traffic conflicts. However, the construction will obstruct the sidewalk and a few parking spaces located in the Perry Street parking lot. Pedestrian detours have been created within the area and will be clearly marked.
