Prestons Restaurant offers new experience
A change comes with every season. There are new offerings at Preston's Restaurant at the Inn at Virginia Tech.
New chef Chris Martin is taking the restaurant to new heights with seasonal menus, cooking classes and demonstrations, and new menu selections.
Preston's has launched www.prestonsattheinn.com, a new Web site for residents, students and faculty to become connected with everything being offered. The site will include a regular blog from the Chef as well as recipes, menus and a schedule of events and entertainment.
About Chef Chris Martin Martin, a native of the New River Valley, brings 21 years of experience in food service and culinary arts. He joins Preston's from Maxwell's Restaurant in Blacksburg, where he was the executive chef.
Martin specializes in haute cuisine -- a French style of cooking characterized by elaborate preparations and presentations and large meals of small, often rich courses. His menu will regularly feature fresh seafood.
In his new role, Martin will be responsible for Preston's new menu, meal presentations and kitchen operations.
Martin received a culinary degree from Baltimore International Culinary College and is certified in nutrition and HAACP certified.
