Corps alumus Capt. Chris Horsfall named East Carolina game Hokie Hero
Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets alumnus Capt. Chris Horsfall, U.S. Air Force, who earned a degree in mathematics and a minor in statistics from the College of Science as well as a minor in leadership studies from the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Rice Center for Leader Development was selected as the Hokie Hero for the football game versus East Carolina University.
The Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Hokie Hero program started in 2006 by IMG College, honors Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets alumni who are currently deployed. Recipients of this honor are highlighted by Jon Laaser and Mike Burnop during the radio broadcast of Virginia Tech football games, on the Corps of Cadets website and in the Corps Review magazine.
Horsfall, an aircraft maintenance officer, has served nine years in multiple locations including South Korea, Japan, Qatar, and twice in Afghanistan. He is currently deployed for six months to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, as the Operations Officer of the 455th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.
Horsfall is a 2006 graduate of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets and during his time in the corps was a member of the Highty-Tighties, served as the regimental bugler, and as a senior, was the Third Battalion Commander.
He says he sends his love to his wife, the former Erin Moe, his son, Luke, and regards to all his buddies and the Hokie Nation.
