The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts announces its 2015-16 season of music, theatre, and cinema events. Over 75 performances are scheduled throughout the season, featuring guest artists, faculty, and students. 

The Music on Mondays series returns with 16 recitals by faculty and guest artists throughout the year. Guest artists include:

The Mainstage Theatre series will present 14 performances of "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" by Christopher Durang Sept. 21 through Oct. 11, followed by an adaptation of Euripides' classic work "The Trojan Women" Nov. 10 through 15. 

Comedy rules the spring semester, starting with a production of "Boeing Boeing" by Marc Camoletti running Feb. 23-Mar. 1. To round out the Mainstage season, Apr. 28 through May 1 theatre goers can enjoy the popular musical "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" with music and lyrics by William Finn, based on the book by Rachel Sheinkin.

Cinema screenings for the season include "Finding Traction" Sept. 19 and "Let Them Have Their Way" May 2. Attendees will have the opportunity for interaction with faculty members that had direct involvement with the film production. On May 7, the Progeny Film Festival will also return in its 13th year.

Music students display their talents with concerts throughout the year. Music ensembles include the New River Valley Symphony, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Choral Ensembles, Symphony Band, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, brass ensembles, Laptop Orchestra, and more. 

In March, 'Exposition III: Resonance' will bring together all of the ensembles in one spectacular benefit showcase at the Moss Arts Center.
