Alexander "Alex" Hable of Midlothian, Virginia, and formerly of St. Paul, Minnesota, a junior majoring in management at Virginia Tech, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 4, 2014, surrounded by friends. He was 20 years old.

He is survived by his mother, Heather; grandparents, Rick and Terri Hable; aunt, Rachael (Todd) Molldrem; uncle, Jason (Anne) Hable; cousins, Max, Kate, Tommy, William, John, Terri, Jim, Brooke, Jamie; and many other loving family and friends.

Alex was known to be a kind and genuine man with an infectious smile. He was a born leader, passionate in everything he did. Curious in nature and always up for an adventure or challenge, he made an impact on every life he touched.

He was a 2012 graduate of Cosby High School, having played on their football team, and with the Shock Club Lacrosse team. Recently finishing his second year at Virginia Tech, Alex played lacrosse for two years. He was newly welcomed into the brotherhood of Pi Kappa Alpha.

We are reminded of how precious life is and how to never wish a day away. Remember to tell everyone we love of that every day. Thank you for being part of our journey.

Funeral services were held July 10 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Richmond, Va.
