BLACKSBURG, Va., Oct. 31, 2011 -- The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, in the Board Room of Torgersen Hall (Room 2100) on the Blacksburg campus.
On Sunday, Nov. 6, several meetings have been scheduled. The Executive Committee will meet in closed session from 10 to 11:15 a.m. in the New River Room at the Inn at Virginia Tech. From 12:45 to 1:15 p.m., the full board will tour the university’s new Visitor and Undergraduate Admissions Center. The tour will be followed by an information session for the full board in the center’s main auditorium from 1:15 to 4 p.m. The board will then meet in closed session beginning at 4 p.m. to discuss litigation issues.
Later on Sunday, the Research Committee will meet in open session from 4:45 to 6 p.m. in the Solitude Room at the Inn at Virginia Tech.
On Monday, Nov. 7, the following committee sessions will be held at the Inn at Virginia Tech unless otherwise noted:
During the two-day meeting, the board will receive reports on the University Strategic Plan, the Grow by Degrees initiative, the university’s long-range plan development, and academic advising programs. The board will also consider resolutions on new graduate degree programs on nuclear engineering.
