Melissa Georges joins The Inn at Virginia Tech as sales manager

BLACKSBURG, Va., July 20, 2011 – Melissa Georges has been named the new sales manager at The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center. The 2000 Virginia Tech graduate with a degree in consumer studies returns to Blacksburg after nine years in Virginia Beach at the Founders Inn and Spa, where she was a senior sales manager. Georges also has worked in Colorado Springs, Colo., at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort.

While in Virginia Beach, Georges worked to create a new website for Benchmark Hospitality International, which took over management of The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center on Jan. 1. She also exceeded booking goals and received Benchmark’s award of excellence and top-producer recognitions. She trained new sales managers on site visits, mapping, account development, and presentation skills.

As Georges reconnects with the Blacksburg community, she is focusing on group meetings for associations and corporations. “I’d love to hear from anyone with a role in planning an offsite meeting,” Georges says. “They can reach me at 540-231-0114 or mageorges@vt.edu.”
