Virginia Tech's Career Services releases post-graduation report

BLACKSBURG, Va., April 8, 2011 – Virginia Tech has released the 2009-2010 academic year post-graduation report.

Almost half of last year's graduates were either employed or had job offers within six months of graduation. Further, more than two-thirds felt their new employment fit in well with their career goals and a majority felt that their new employment is closely related to their academic major. 

The entire post-graduation report for the 2009-2010 academic year can be found online. Sixty-three percent of the graduates responded to the survey.

Virginia Tech students interested in learning more about available job opportunities and internships are encouraged to log in to the Hokies4Hire website using their PID and the last four digits of their student ID number, or contact Career Services at (540) 231-6776. Prospective employers interested in posting through Hokies4Hire may do so by registering their organization via the employer login page. A Wall Street Journal survey of 479 employers ranked Virginia Tech 13th in the nation for preparing graduates to succeed on the job.
