The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting at 1:15 p.m. Monday, March 22, in the Board Room of Torgersen Hall (Room 2100) on the Blacksburg campus.

On Sunday, March 21, three meetings will be held at the Inn at Virginia Tech. The Student Representative Selection Committee will meet in closed session from 10 a.m. to noon in the New River Room. The full board will meet in open session from 1:15 to 4:15 p.m. in Latham Ballroom to receive updates on the University Strategic Plan and Diversity Strategic Plan. The Research and Finance and Audit committees will meet in closed session from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Solitude Room.

The following committee sessions will be held on Monday, March 22 (meetings will be at The Inn at Virginia Tech unless otherwise noted):

  • The Academic Affairs Committee will meet in closed session at 8:30 a.m. and will meet in open session at 9 a.m., both meetings will be in the Drillfield Room.
  • The Buildings and Grounds Committee and the Student Affairs and Athletics Committee will tour Brodie Hall, Monteith Hall and Squires Student Center beginning at 7:15 a.m. Building and Grounds will meet in closed session at 9 a.m. in the Huckleberry Room, and will meet in open session at 9:30 a.m. in the Solitude Room. Buildings and Grounds will join the Finance and Audit Committee in a joint open session in the Duck Pond Room at 11:15 a.m., and will be joined by Student Affairs and Athletics later that morning.
  • The Finance and Audit Committee will meet in closed session at 7:30 a.m. in the 1872 Salon and will meet in open session at 8:30 a.m. in the Duck Pond Room. The Building and Grounds Committee will join them at 11:15 a.m.
  • The Student Affairs and Athletics Committee will meet in open session at 9 a.m. in the Smithfield Room.

During the two day meeting, the board will consider resolutions on several construction projects, compensation for graduate assistants, and revisions to the Investment of University Funds policy and the weapons and interim suspension policies.
