For a second time, Virginia Tech has been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation in their Tree Campus USA program.

“We are very pleased to be recognized as a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation, especially given the importance of reforestation in the Campus Master Plan and the Climate Action Commitment.” said Matthew Gart, Virginia Tech’s landscape architect. “The support and name recognition provided by the Arbor Day Foundation have been very helpful as we generate interest in our campus tree planting program.”

The recertification follows Virginia Tech’s selection as one of eight college campuses for the Arbor Day and Toyota Tree Tour in 2008 during which 100 trees were donated and planted on campus.
