The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting at 1:15 p.m. Monday, June 1, in the Board Room of Torgersen Hall (Room 2100) on the Blacksburg campus.

On Sunday, May 31, the full board will meet in open session for a general information session from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. in the Solitude Conference Room at the Inn at Virginia Tech. The Research Committee will meet in open session earlier that day, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., in the Smithfield Conference Room at the Inn at Virginia Tech.

The following committee sessions will be held on Monday, June 1 (meetings will be at The Inn at Virginia Tech unless otherwise noted):

  • The Academic Affairs Committee will meet in closed session at 8:30 a.m. and will meet in open session at 9 a.m., both meetings will be in the Smithfield Room.
  • The Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet in closed session at 8:45 a.m. in the New River Room and will meet in open session at 9 a.m. in Solitude Conference Room. The committee will then join the Finance and Audit Committee in open session at 11:30 a.m. in the Duck Pond Room.
  • The Finance and Audit Committee will meet in closed session at 7:30 a.m. in the 1872 Salon and will meet in open session at 8:30 a.m. in the Duck Pond Room.
  • The Student Affairs and Athletics Committee will meet in open session at 8:30 a.m. in the Smithfield Room.

The board will consider among other items the 2009-10 university budget, the 2010-16 Capital Outlay Plan, a new Master of Public health degree program administered by the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Virginia Tech Climate Action Commitment.
