Starting Friday, Oct. 24 Virginia Tech will welcome the families of Virginia Tech students to campus for what has become an annual tradition – Family Day.

On Friday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at D2 in Dietrick Hall, join Dining Services, a department within the Division of Student Affairs for dinner where they will be featuring the top 10 recipes selected from the sixth annual “Home Sweet Home” recipe contest. Flex plans, dining dollars, Hokie Passport, and cash will be accepted at the door.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, the day will be filled with dozens of programs, activities, events, and open houses. The day kicks off with an opportunity for families and students to meet administrators and faculty members at the president’s welcome reception, held in the Commonwealth Ballroom, Squires Student Center from 9 to 10 a.m. Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger will welcome guests and present the 2008 Parent of the Year award.

From 1 to 3 p.m. in the Old Dominion Ballroom, Squires Student Center, the Division of Student Affairs showcases its 15 departments. Attendees will get a firsthand look at performances by student organizations and clubs. Whether your interests are in recreational sports, student leadership development, multicultural programs, career development, or health and wellness, the Division of Student Affairs offers families a festive look at its array of programs and services.
