The Student Alumni Associates of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association have been named recipients of the 14th Annual Students' Choice Award for faculty member of the year.

Faculty member of the year award recipients include:

  • Bill Beal, professor, animal and poultry science;
  • John Boyer, instructor, geography;
  • Tsu Roger Chang, instructor, physics;
  • Preston Durrill, instructor, chemistry;
  • Jeannine Eddleton, instructor, chemistry;
  • Mike Ellerbrock, professor, agriculture and applied economics;
  • Kurt Hoffman, director of undergraduate studies, psychology;
  • Chris Neck, associate professor, management;
  • George Simmons, premedical/predental advisor, University Honors program and biological sciences; and
  • Ketan Trivedi, instructor, chemistry.

Honorees will be recognized and presented special certificates by the Student Alumni Associates and the Alumni Association.

On April 10, the Student Alumni Associates will have Faculty Appreciation Day tables set up on the Drillfield, in Pamplin Hall, and in West End Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students can stop by to pick up an apple and a sticker for their favorite faculty member and also write a thank-you to faculty members who have made a difference for them.
